The Book of Mormon
Anybody seen this before? I took my sister to see it yesterday as part of a christmas present and it was absolutely brilliant, hysterical laughing all the way through.

Relates to west ham due to the blind faith and following based on zeeo evidence that any good will ever actually come from it

Re: The Book of Mormon
Me, Mrs NS and the kid went and saw it in February.... never laughed so much at a show in all my life... my daughter is totally obsessed ... plays the songs to death... is a twatter mate with the bloke who plays the lead role... she was up the west end last week and thought she saw two of the cast and went over to have a chat with them.... only to find out they was actual Mormons.... they were very polite and gave her a book anyway.... ha ha!! Would deffo go back and watch again... great day out

I saw it with the original leads when it came out in London 2013. It was quite funny. Nothing more.

To be fair almost all of Parker and Stone's films have been musicals as well.

And on reflection, really taking the piss out of standard musicals too.

Everybody has AIDS!

It's a really good show. Very funny.

I'm not a fan of traditional musicals, but this was great. To be fair almost all of Parker and Stone's films have been musicals as well.

They must maake an absolute fortune, 7 shows a week fot what? 10 years? We got the cheapest tickets available (still had a great view) and they were £40 some tickets well over £100

Re: The Book of Mormon
I think a few people may have missed the point here.

As far as I can see, everyone on this thread who has praised the show, also dislikes 'standard' musicals.

Don't think of it as a musical (even though it is). If you like South Park and the comedy of Parker and Stone, then you will almost certainly like this.

Don't worry about the genre.

I saw it in February and thought it was brilliant. Proper near the mark but that’s what makes it so funny.

Haven't seen this, not a fan of musical theatre either, but Jerry Springer the Opera was good in its day.

Re: The Book of Mormon
Hasa diga ebowai......

In this part of Africa, we ALL have a saying – whenever something bad happens, we just throw our hands to the sky and say HASA DIGA EEBOWAI!

Hasa Diga Eebowai?

It's the only way to get through all these troubled times. There's war, poverty, famine... but having a saying makes it all seem better!

There isn't enough food to eat
Hasa Diga Eebowai
People are starving in the street
Hasa Diga Eebowai
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Hasa Diga Eebowai!

Well, that's pretty neat!

Does it mean no worries for the rest of our days?

Kind of!

We've had no rain in several days (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)
And eighty percent of us have AIDS (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)
Many young girls here get circumcised
Their clits get cut right off (Way oh!)
And so we say up to the sky
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Hasa Diga Eebowai!

Now you try! Just stand up tall, tilt your head to the sky, and list off the bad things in YOUR life.

Somebody took our luggage away (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)

The plane was crowded and the bus was late (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)

When the world is getting you down
There's nobody else to blame (Way oh!)
Raise your middle finger to the sky
And curse his rotten name

Wait, what?

Hasa Diga Eebowai! (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)
Am I saying that right?

Excuse me, sir, but what EXACTLY does that phrase mean?

Well, let's see...'Eebowai' means 'God', and 'Hasa Diga' means 'FUCK YOU'. So I guess in English it would be, "Fuck you, God!" (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)

What?!!

When God fucks you in the butt (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)
Fuck God back right in his cunt (Hasa Diga Eebowai!)

Hasa Diga Eebowai! (Fuck you, God!)
Hasa Diga Eebowai! (Fuck you, God!)

Excuse me, sir, but you should really not be saying that. Things aren't always as bad as they seem.

Oh, really? Well, take this fucking asshole, Mutumbo, here. He got caught last week trying to rape a baby.

What!? Why?

Some people in his tribe believe that having sex with a virgin will cure their AIDS. There aren't many virgins left, so some of them are turning to babies.

But... that's horrible!

I know!

Here's the bucher, he has AIDS
Here's the teacher, she has AIDS
Here's the doctor, he has AIDS –
Here's my daughter she has A...
...wonderful disposition!
She's all I have left in the world
And if either of you lays a hand on her –
I will give you my AIDS!

If you don't like what we say
Try living here a couple days
Watch all your friends and family die
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you!

Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Fuck you in the eye!

Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Fuck you, God, in the ass, mouth, and cunt-a
Hasa – fuck you in the other eye!

Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you, fuck you God
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you, fuck you God
Hasa Diga Eebowai!
Fuck you, fuck you God

Hasa Diga!
Fuck you God!

In the cunt!

Takashi Mike 2.19

I like Oliver.

I was Fagin in the school play.
I won the best actor prize voted for by the parents.
Oliver was upset, he cried when I got it.

" When I see someone rich..."

Excluding Oliver, musicals are still ALL fucking SHIT and I won't be in a rush to see jobbing thespians whore out their inferior acting and singing skills in a made up claptrap singalong production any time soon.

Also saw it last year, very very good. Defy even "Musical Haters" to not enjoy.
